1. Hey hello kindly introduce yourself?
1. Hey too, how are you. My name is Evadelphine Gachanja, an IT graduate who works at an Insurance firm and also a business woman, who deals with fashion especially beauty. I am also a mother.
2. How long have you been dealing in fashion?
2. Ever since I was young, my eyes have been on fashion…I am addicted to smart and beautiful looks.
3. Tell us about the kind of fashion outfits you sell?
3. We have a shop in Nairobi called Vazi matata where we sell handcrafted (samples attached below) The shop is managed by Abedy…and via online I sell other all types clothes both women and men including kids.
I also deal with make up essential which is my major. that is various kinds of beauty product (like hips pill, tummy trimmer, spots and pimples remover which I’ll talk in lengthy during my next interview.
4. What inspired you to get into fashion styling and clothing?
My mum tells me that as a kid I liked to pick my own clothes to wear, and she couldn’t believe how good I was at matching outfit or bringing out a whole look from unexpected outfits. She would let me do it n this has motivated me a lot since then…..as I grew up, I started styling my cousin during get together occasions for fun during events.
And as I said, honestly it’s in me, I just like being organized and perfect.
Actually my sister tells me that I have OCD, like I am obsessed in being perfect. it’s just in me…I get stressed when you don’t match your outfits properly for sure.
5. What challenges do you face as an entrepreneur in fashion?
As at now, fashion is really growing and changing at super sonic speed, so I have to adjust n adapt as fast as I can to avoid creating outdated fashion….
It’s another reason as to why I chose to major with beauty
6. As a mom and a young entrepreneur how has the industry been for you?
To be honest, any mum will tell you that juggling between work, either business or employed and raising a kid on your own is hectic!
But I have received so much support from my family and am so grateful.
To my mum, dad and my sisters I am so so grateful for the support and encouragement.
7. Tell us about your experience as a mother?
I would be lying to say its smooth, not even being a mother…being pregnant alone is not for the soft hearted!
Despite all that it has shaped me and motivated me to stay strong.
It has also pushed me in my entrepreneur growth a lot .
I would have to write an essay about it.
Lastly being a mum is quite amazing…it’s like watching a miniature you jumping and running around. I tell you, you’ll love your kids more than you love yourself. It brings so much satisfaction and you get to love them unconditionally.
8. What are your aspirations for the new year 2024?
Am hoping to expand my business and target a much bigger number. Am dreaming big at a time I see myself going national.
9. What is your message to your customers who have supported your business so far?
I thank God for my customers, because having customers who supports you by referring people is not easy.
I really appreciate my clients.
They say in business most people who support you are actually strangers. I have an online platform and honestly I have never met 90% of my customers physically.
I want y’all to know that I wouldn’t be here, this far, if not for your support.
